Drugs and alcohol
CAN has a team of specialist drug and alcohol workers that offer a range of services in the community including;
- Telephone advice, information and counselling.
- One to one advice, information and counselling.
- Structured day care.
- Specialist services for young people.
- Prevention services.
- Specialist services within the criminal justice system.
- Complimentary therapy.
- Specialist services for minority ethnic groups.
- Specialist services for substance using parents.
- Group work.
- Advice on and referral to other service providers that may be able to help.
- Needle exchange.
Homelessness and housing
Having somewhere to live is a basic human need. We provide;
- Help and advice on benefits, housing and health care.
- Computer training.
- Numeracy and literacy support.
- Showers and laundry facilities.
- Outreach to rough sleepers.
- Tenancy support service.
- Help with acquiring furniture, completing forms and registering with utilities.
- Life skills training and advice on dealing with neighbours.
- Mediation between landlord and tenant.
- Rent deposit scheme.
- Supported housing for homeless people with drug and alcohol problems.
