Words of Thanks from Carole Jones
We are very pleased to say that the ‘Sleep Out’ on Friday 5th Feb. went very well with 10 people sleeping out in St Giles Church Yard in support of CAN.
There were over 80 people there representing different agencies in the town – CAN, the YMCA, Hope Centre, and a youth group called ‘Young Voices’ supported by NBC.
Some of the people who regularly sleep rough also came along!
BBC Radio Northampton joined us, slept out and did interviews with those taking part!
Local councilor Sally Beardsworth also spent the night out doors with us!
Our enormous thanks to everyone who took part and to all those who have given generously to this event. We have calculated a total of at least £1,500 + has been raised !
(final figure will be announced when all monies have been collected)
Special thanks to Cam’s Mum for making delicious sandwiches to keep us going, to Robert for coming down to cheer us up, and Rene for some wonderful photographs - The pictures were taken in the early part of the night – We were not all looking quite so smiley when tiredness and cold set in !!
